NAGOYA UNION CHURCH
A SMALL CHURCH WITH A BIG LOVE FOR GOD
(This post was written by Lady Imagawa, one of our gifted worship leaders.)
There is something about that name!
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility." (Proverbs 18:10-13, KJV)
There is power in the name of Jesus!
As I have been sending emails for almost 8 years now, I may have shared the story already that when I was little my biological mom told me that when I’m scared I should murmur “in Jesus name”. I usually use this when I walk outside my grandparent’s village and see a street dog approaching me. You know, in the Philippines where I grew up, during those times, there were lots of street dogs and it is scary to be bitten by them as they might have rabies and because it’s fatal I knew I don’t want to fall and be one of their victims.
I also use that word when I am left in the dark, like there were constant brownouts in the Philippines before maybe it is getting better now a days, and so I will say those powerful words “in Jesus name”. As I grow up I still have that with me usually when I am in trouble or in pain or afraid or angry or lonely. I see myself really closer to the Lord when I am at my worst. You may be like that too but it is best to know that the Lord our God, mighty Father, our Savior Jesus and the Holy Spirit wants to spend time with us – not just when we are in the lowest days of our lives but also when we are happy.
We need to understand that He wants to be with us all the time!
