NAGOYA UNION CHURCH

A SMALL CHURCH WITH A BIG LOVE FOR GOD

EVENTS

REGULAR EVENTS

SUPPER AFTER CHURCH

There is a pot-luck supper on the last Sunday of every month, immediately following the 4:00 p.m. service. If you are able to bring some food or some snacks to share, that is wonderful. However, if you’re not able to bring anything, that is no problem at all. We always have lots to share.

CARE GROUP

We meet online twice a month to discuss recent sermons, exchange ideas, and pray. This is on a Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Please speak with Cai for details of how to join.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY

There is a Men's Bible Study on the second Sunday every month. We meet in the small kid's room on the 3rd floor of the church at 2:30 p.m.

PAST EVENTS

Brandon's baptism

Brandon was baptised in December, in a beautiful ceremony that bore testimony to God's work in his life.

Brandon spoke about his life that had been self-centered and focused on making himself happy. But through God's grace, he came to be serious about following Jesus and putting him above all things.

The baptismal water may have been lukewarm, but definitely not Brandon's faith!

Farewell to the Imagawa family and Emily

We said farewell to Masaki, Lady and Chia, who are going on to an exciting ministry opportunity with Chris Moore's church plant in Nagoya.

We also bid goodbye to Emily, who is going back home to the United States.

We will miss them all very much, but look forward to being united again soon.

Joseph and Aya's wedding

Joseph and Aya celebrated their wedding with family and friends from Japan and all over the world. Pastor Steve led the ceremony with his usual bag of jokes, and Jeane sang a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace.

Men's day retreat and hike

On September 13, a small band of brothers from church went to the mountains for a day. We did a couple of Bible studies, hiked to the top of a mountain, hiked back down the mountain, and then annoyed some small fish by sticking our feet in their river. Next time we go, we're planning to take some tents and camp overnight.

Lecture at Tokai High School

Paul Wicking gave an invited lecture at Tokai High School, as part of their Saturday Program event. It was well attended, with every chair in the classroom filled, and people standing at the back. The gospel was included as part of the presentation, covering creation, fall, redemption and restoration.
